Deal’s Orchard is continuing to grow its presence as a local destination with the addition of a large porch overlooking Apple Acres family fun zone and a spectator kitchen in the Apple Barn.
The 1,200-square-foot porch on the west side of the Apple Barn has seating for 50 to 60 people and handicap-accessible restrooms. The porch can be reserved for special events, with catered food welcome, Cindy Deal said.
Another eight feet as been added to the east side of the Apple Barn and the entire shop has been reconfigured to allow for a spectator kitchen. Visitors to the orchard will be able to watch as the signature caramel apples are made, and a Donut Robot machine will be entertaining to watch as it churns out apple cider donuts.
Deal’s Orchard is now in its peak season with Apple Acres open daily and special weekend events beginning Sept. 26.
Saturday, Sept. 26, is Old-Fashioned Fun on the Farm Day, complete with an antique tractor parade at 11 am. Saturday, Oct. 3, will feature Art and Apples, including sand art, spin art and more. Pony rides will be available Sundays Sept. 27 and Oct. 4, and Saturdays Oct. 17 and 24.
The annual Fall Festival, which has grown to the second largest event in the county (only the Bell Tower Festival is larger), is slated for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10-11.
